They fell in love as they met each other. After a wedding rehearsal, Victor practices his wedding vows in a forest. He then places the wedding ring on a thing that is similar as a tree branch without realizing it is the finger of a deceased bride. The bride rises from her grave and brought Victor to a place where the afterlives live at – the Land of the Dead. Accidentally becoming the fiancé of the bride, he then finds out that the bride is named as Emily, and she was murdered on the night of her elopement in the woods where he found her. Desperate to get back to Victoria, Victor lies to Emily as he brings her with him to see his parents as a reason to be back at the Land of Living. He is being dragged back to the Land of the Dead once again as Emily finds out he was lying as he confesses his love to Victoria once he met her again. She felt betrayed because Victor had deceived her, but she eventually realizes that Victor and Victoria are most probably meant to be together. He apologizes to her. Victoria is again engaged to another man named as Lord Barkis Bittern planned by her parents. Later, Victor is informed that Victoria will be married, feeling the betrayal once Emily was feeling, he decides to end his life as to marry Emily. Victoria rushes to the church finding Victor who is about to drink the poison ready for him. They reunite as Emily stops him from drinking the poison, but Lord Barkis interrupts them only to remind them that Victoria has married to him. Wanting to murder Victor, Lord Barkis pulls out his sword and is being stopped by Emily who takes it to herself. She recognizes him as her former fiancé, who murdered her taking all of her dowry; she wants him to leave. Instead of leaving the venue, Lord Barkis insulted Emily as he drinks the poison which was meant for Victor. Victor was set free and happily reunites with Victoria as Emily flies away turning into a swarm of butterflies.
